Rates and Insurance For Online Therapy

Medical insurance usually covers online therapy.

I accept the following insurance:

  • HMSA
  • HMSA - Quest
  • HMAA
  • University Health Alliance

You can call HMSA, HMSA Quest, HMAA, or University Health Alliance (UHA) if you’re unsure of the extent of your coverage. It's important that you know your mental health benefits prior to beginning therapy. You are responsible for receiving authorization from your insurance provider and assume responsibility for any fees not covered by insurance, including by not limited to deductible and copayment fees. Please check your coverage carefully.

Here are some questions to ask customer care if you aren't sure of your coverage:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible and if so, has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • Does my insurance cover online therapy?
  • What is the co-pay per session?

You can pay out-of-pocket if you choose not to use your insurance or are uninsured.

Insurance agencies require a diagnosis because your sessions are considered a behavioral health appointment.  Please consider whether due to security clearance, background checks or other medical reviews possible to your profession, you may not want a diagnosis as part of your medical record.  This is a personal decision.

Your session fee or copays can be paid by cash, check and all major credit cards, including HSA and FSA cards.  Cards are charged using STRIPE, a safe secure way to take care of payment for online therapy.

If you're unsure about your insurance or still have questions about paying for therapy, please contact me and we can talk about what payment option best fits for you.
